Frequently asked questions
How should I care for my embroidered piece?
Because each Echad piece is embroidered by hand, we recommend treating it with gentle care. Hand wash or machine wash cold on a delicate cycle with mild detergent, then lay flat or hang to dry. If needed, iron on low heat from the reverse side.
Natural variations and soft wear over time are considered part of the character of the piece — heirlooms are meant to be lived with, loved, and passed down.
When will I get my order?
Shipping timelines vary depending on the collection ordered.
Our Core Collection pieces are made to order and typically ship within 1–3 weeks. Because each item is embroidered by hand, timelines may occasionally be extended slightly during holidays or periods of high volume. Please note that processing times do not include Shabbat or Jewish holidays.
Bespoke Sets are fully completed and ready to ship, and will typically be sent within 3–5 business days.
We believe meaningful things are worth making slowly, and we deeply appreciate your patience while each piece is prepared with care. You’ll receive tracking information as soon as your order is on its way.
Is each piece really hand embroidered?
Yes. Every Echad piece is embroidered individually by hand.
Because of this, slight variations in stitching, spacing, and texture are not considered imperfections, but part of the character and individuality of handmade work. No two pieces will ever be completely identical.
We believe the human hand should still be visible in the things meant to last.
Do you accept returns or exchanges?
Because each Echad piece is handcrafted specifically for you, we do not accept returns or offer refunds.
Eligible full-price items may be exchanged for store credit if returned unworn, unwashed, with original tags and packaging, and requested within 10 calendar days of delivery. Please note that all bespoke and custom pieces are final sale.
If your order arrives damaged or with an embroidery defect, please contact us within 5 calendar days of delivery and we will make it right.
What is the Khava heart?
Each Echad piece includes a small hand-stitched signature heart known as the Khava Heart.
The heart is named in memory of Khava Piletzki, a 36-year-old Jewish seamstress from Białystok, Poland who was murdered in the Holocaust. Her story became part of the inspiration behind Echad and serves as a reminder that even after unimaginable loss, there are still threads that connect us across generations.
Every Khava Heart is stitched by hand as a quiet tribute to continuity, remembrance, and the enduring soul of the Jewish people.
Are Bespoke Sets ever recreated?
No. Each Bespoke Set is released as a fully completed one-of-one collection and will never be recreated exactly as originally made.
Variations in linen, thread, trim, motif, and stitching are embraced as part of the individuality of each set. Once a Bespoke Set has found its home, it exists only as it was originally created.
No duplicates. No exact reproductions.
Do you offer custom embroidery?
Yes. Echad offers custom embroidery on select pieces, including sweaters and oxford shirts.
Whether you’re commemorating a meaningful phrase, honoring a loved one, marking a milestone, or creating a future heirloom, each custom piece is embroidered individually by hand and created in close consideration with your request.
Because every custom order is made specifically for you, all custom pieces are final sale.
