Every order from Echad includes a small act of remembrance.

Tucked inside your package, you’ll find a tea light candle, a wallet-sized photograph, and the name of a Jewish soul whose life was taken by antisemitism. Each person honored through the Light & Legacy Remembrance Project once had a world of their own — a family, traditions, dreams, routines, and a future that should have belonged to them.

This project was created from a belief deeply rooted in Jewish tradition: that remembrance is an act of resistance, and that a name spoken aloud carries life forward.

We live in a time where the number of firsthand Holocaust witnesses grows smaller each year. It has never felt more urgent to preserve not only the history, but the humanity, of those who were lost. Not as numbers. As people.

Alongside your order, we invite you to light the candle in their honor — perhaps beside your Shabbat candles, on their yahrzeit, or simply in a quiet moment of reflection. Carry their image with you or display it in your home as a member of your own family. Their name and story are written by hand because remembrance should never feel mass-produced.

The Light & Legacy Remembrance Project exists to ensure that even in the smallest corners of ordinary life, their memory continues forward:

from one Jewish home to another,

from one generation to the next,

from one small light unto countless others.

May their memory be a blessing.

"I want to go on living even after my death."
